Writing from L.A.

Hello Kababayans,

What a season God has blessed me with. It seems like just the other day I wrote you last. So much has happened. Pops and I have been touring the better part of four months. In fact, I'm writing this now from Los Angeles after performing in Reno, Nevada. We had a great time and people were very warm. There's nothing like seeing fellow kababayans in other countries that make me feel like home.

While in Los Angeles, my friend took me to Laguna Beach. It was gorgeous. I was so inspired that we shot a music video to "Silayan". The song has an "island" feel to the arrangement and I did something I've never done before in a music video. You'll just have to wait to see it. It should be released by end of September.

My hope is to complete two music videos from the "K" album by end of year.

I'm equally excited to get started on my next project, an inspirational album. So much to do and yet so little time. However, my priority is putting this next album together. It seems everyday brings new and exciting possibilities. How can I stop?

I realize my success is owed to the Lord, and to all of you who have supported me through my career. As long as God gives me breath, I will use my talents to inspire through song.

I'm always encouraged when I hear from you so please write.

Letter from Kuh

My dear friends,

Thank you sooo much for your continued support of all my projects. I cannot tell you enough in words how excited I am that I've finally completed my "K" album. It's a collection of filipino classics way back the 50's and before. Some like SIYA NA BA which is my single hopefully pop enough for the radios and for the now generation.

Bob Aves did all the great arrangements and you cannot miss this great collection from a genius that he is. I am just ecstatic that I've done this. Great timing that the elections is coming and hopefully this album inspires you to vote wisely. We have an amazing country that we all should take care of so that the next generation can look forward to a bright future.

I am on my way to a 24-city tour with Pops in the U.S. and Canada. Please help us get the word out to your friends and families abroad.

Send them a copy of my "K" album. I'm sure they will enjoy it.

Letter from Kuh

Dear Friends:

Thank you so much for your support and for writing. Please dont stop! Need the inspiration and need the to know you're there. Have been so busy with all the shows in Mandarin. Just did a Valentine show with Pops and we're extending for another 3 Saturdays. Then in March is Bobby Soul of the Platters series at the Mandarin also.

I'm now putting together videos compiled from way back when. This is for my 25th anniversary concert which will tour the U.S. in June and July. I've got my hands full! It's good to be busy and productive. I do hope I'll get a break to relax.

Well if ever I go to one of your cities please do your best to see the show. I promise it will be awesome.

Here are the answers to your questions:

1. Most of the songs in the inspirational album are
already finished. I have recorded vocals on most of
them. However, it is not really easy for me to finish
an album that fast because I have been touring.
Recording an album is also more taxing for me than
singing live because a record stays forever and I have
to make sure I give my fans a quality album they will
cherish forever.

2. We have started to put together some of my
best performances over the years for a best of DVD
release. Watch out for it soon. The DVD will include
excerpts from my Power of Two Concerts with Regine,
Pops, Jaya, Nora, Basil, Diva 2 Diva with Zsa Zsa, and
some from my solo concerts.

3.1 No, I will never assume a holier than thou
attitude. What is important is a personal
relationship with God. I am just trying my best to
share the gospel to as many people as possible.

3. 2. Yes I will keep on singing.

3.3. Thank you for believing that I look good. I do
my best to maintain a sound body. I do not smoke,
over eat, or sleep late. The body is the temple of God
and we glorify God through mainting our bodies.

4. Yes, I will have Isabella as one of the guests in
my 25th year 18 city tour in the states next year.
Atlantic will be one of the cities.

5. I am so blessed for having someone as brilliant as
Mari for putting up this website. This site has made me
aware of the different needs of my fans.

6. Yes, I read all the mails here although it takes me
sometime to write back because of my schedule. I will
try very hard to answer emails right away.

in this business for this long if not for all your love and support. I am truly grateful.

Kuh, you exemplify elegance and class and your voice is simply the best. I neve get tired listening to your music. I'm a fanatic.

Could you please do the following for your fans:

1. Complete soon the albums you promised. Especially Walking on Water. I'm in need of music from you for my daily meditation. At present, I'm playing Unforgettable but it seems not appropriate. I hope you include Our Father in the recording.

2. Please do a DVD RECORDING of your countless concerts, EXCERPTS of them will be a great idea.

3. I hope you haven't really turned your back on the Catholic Church. And please don't dare say something against it. They make up the bulk of your fans. And please never assume a holier than thou attitude. It's a big no-no if you want to grow spiritually.

3. Keep on singing. I really glorify God through your beautiful music.

4. Maintain your good looks. It counts so much in the Philippines. It's so unfortunate and it only shows how immature some Filipinos are. Not so here in New York where I am based and in America in general.

4. How about a back to back concert with Isabella here in NY or Atlantic City? During your concert with Nora here, you mentioned something about her or words to that effect.

5. I hope you duly compensate and take care Mari Arquiza. She's doing a great job for you!

6. Finally, please acknowledge the emails of your fans maybe monthly or every after two months as a sign that you care for them. They keep you going, you know. If you're busy, you can delegate someone to do it for you.

The jingle of the nido full cream milk is entitled Ligaya Kong Tunay. It was written by ogie alcasid. It was a beautiful song of a mother to a child. Unfortunately, the song is not part of any album that is released commercially. What I know is that nido will use the song again towards christmas time

There are so many beautiful songs in that soundtrack.
Completely, Nasaan ka Paano ako?, Hanggang Kailan,
Minsan sa isang panahon -- the album is no longer
commercially available.

I have plans of putting together an all tagalog best
of --- i will include the songs in there. hay i hope
to have time to do all of those albums.

hi, ms. kuh! what is the title of the song in tinimbang ang langit? I bought all of your old albums, pero i dont think nandun po yun. hindi ko masyado maalala yung melody, pero pag narinig ko yun, maaalala ko un by heart. kc tita ko talaga ung fan mo, she used to watch the movie over and over again kc naman meron cya nung betamax copy. so pati ako napapanood ko na rin, i guess sya ung naka-influence sa kin. plus the LPs na araw araw nyang pinapatugtog...

Dear Friends

Thank you so very much for remembering my birthday. I must apologize for this late response. It's not a good excuse but I have been swamped with much work w/c I praise God for. God's been blessing me tremendously!!! There are many things that I would like to share with all of you. In the next weeks I shall do my best to drop you guys a line. It means so much to me that you communicate with me.

There's great news! My daughter Isabella (her nickname is Izzy) has really become much more in love with singing. She loves the old standards and watches a lot of old movies. Lately its been the Doris Day classics. i'm praying she continues to pursue her dream of making it in music.

I'm also doing a whole year of Kuh Ledesma Presents at the Mandarin's Captain's Bar and Nyoy Volante salutes the Beatles is every Friday of April and Saturdays Rebekah will perform with Keith Martin. They are equally talented and excellent artists. I do hope you can give them your support.

Hope to meet you guys in the future. In the meantime God bless you all for all the encouraging words you write me.
